A few Festive recipes...

It's no secret that I love baking, but at this time of year I am in my element. The kitchen is the cosiest spot in the house and there's always a mince pie or two either fresh out of the oven or about to be baked. I'm a big fan of homemade gifts too, and if they are edible, all the better! I've created a few recipes over the years in different corners of the internet, so I thought I'd round up a few of my favourites here. Whether you're creating edible gifts, baking treats for the big day, looking for fun recipes to make with children or just fancy treating yourself, here's a few ideas to inspire you...

meringue snowflakes.jpg

Snowflake meringues, guaranteed to add a little festive sparkle and cheer. These go rather well with amaretto hot chocolate also.

chocolate fudge.jpg

No bake chocolate fudge, three ways. Edible gifts, minimal effort and maximum indulgence.

gingerbread houses.jpg

The gingerbread house is surely one of the ultimate festive bakes. If you have some time on your hands, why not create a whole village?!

spiced pecan nuts.jpg

Spiced salted pecans, because Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without some salty snacks. These are a last minute swift to make bake and I do recommend washing these down with some mulled pear cider.

CNV00005.jpg

Chocolate orange Christmas Pudding. This recipe is from 2012. Its not for the faint hearted, there's a few hours work involved, but it contains all my favourite things, Cointreau, chocolate, GlacĂ© cherries... etc. Worth it.

earl grey tea vodka

Last but not least, earl grey tea vodka, a speedy infused booze for last minute gifting.
